Casa de la Bella Flor
Sustainability
Hilde Checca is the owner of the Casa de la Bella Flor. She and her entire family have lived in this village for many years, and they were among the first to inhabit Yanque. Hilde worked many years in different hotels, until she decided that her house could also accommodate visitors. Then, she and her husband Natalie decided to make this possible. Hilde is very concerned about her guests and cooks and always serves with the interests of her visitors in mind. This accommodation is more than simply a bed, but it is really a local experience where one can stay in a typical home and talk to the family around the fireplace with a delicious coca tea.

They use regional elements of decoration that are typical of the area both in construction and in accessorizing. Their own environment reflects the Cabana culture of the Colca Valley. The house also prepares their food with locally sourced produce such as quinua, kiwichas, potatoes and beans that they harvest from their fields.
